Important notes regarding the Vanier application:
Students who have completed the Vanier CGS electronic application through ResearchNet must submit it electronically to the Canadian university that will nominate them. Applications cannot be sent directly to the Vanier CGS program.
Students enrolling in a Vanier CGS should ensure that the institution where they are applying for PhD studies has a Vanier CGS quota.
They must then notify the institution that they want to be considered for the Vanier CGS.
If an applicant’s application is not selected for nomination to the Secretariat, the institution will notify the individual. Each institution may have a different time for this notice.
Based on its quota, the institution will submit nominations to the Secretariat.
Each student may only be nominated once. The student must designate one university to submit their nomination to if many universities would like to propose them for a Vanier CGS. It will not be possible to nominate more than once.
Students are responsible for contacting the institution for more information on selecting the appropriate federal granting agency, locating the appropriate contact person within a department/faculty, and seeking advice or answers to questions about content and how to present the information in their applications.
Results for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship will be released in early April 2024.
